Forth Valley Hospital selects Garran Lockers

Garran Lockers have been selected to provide 1280 staff locker compartments and a centrally controlled electronic locker management system at the newly built Forth Valley Acute Hospital in Scotland.

Garran Lockers, one of the longest established manufacturers of lockers in the UK, have started the delivery and installation of 1280 staff lockers at the hospital site which is due for completion in 2011.

Garran was selected for this project from a number of UK locker manufacturers and suppliers while the tender was also advertised in the European Journal. The choice of Garran came as no surprise as the company has earned its long-standing reputation as the leading UK locker manufacturer, as the result of 50 years of industry experience and a continued commitment towards new product development. The company was also able to meet all the stringent requirements defined in the tender document.

The locker facility at the new Forth Valley Hospital is designed to provide staff members with a short term access to a locker for the storage of personal articles for the duration of the shift. Access to lockers is to be gained through the use of hospital issued swipe/ID cards. The management system provides an alarm/alert when a locker has been occupied for more than 15 hours. It also provides general and specific staff usage reports in a format which can be saved or printed. Lockers can be opened (by authorised operators) from both a central location and within the locker room.
