“We have been very pleased with Garran Lockers efficient phased delivery and installation while ensuring that the changing facilities were open throughout to support the busy schedule of our nursing personnel. I’m delighted with the locker supplier choice we have made.”
Ross Campbell, Facility Manager, Inverclyde Royal Hospital
Inverclyde Royal Hospital Case study
The Inverclyde Royal Hospital is the main hospital in Greenock which serves a population of 125 000 in the urban and rural areas of Inverclyde (including Greenock), Largs, Isle of Bute and Cowal Peninsula. The hospital provides a range of services including inpatient beds, general medical and surgical specialties, orthopaedics, ophthalmology and Accident & Emergency.
Business Challenge
In 2008, the Inverclyde Royal Hospital started the refurbishment project of their storage facilities focussing primarily on the locker rooms for their female nursing staff. The main challenge of the project was to be able to offer a phased delivery and install all lockers without disruption, as the changing facilities were in constant use by the hospital nurses.
A comprehensive tender was issued and the competitive bids were reviewed in detail. As a result, Garran Lockers won the bid to replace the existing old and no longer practical lockers that also did not comply with the new and more stringent ‘health & safety’ regulations.
