“We have used Garran Lockers for a number of years and have always been very pleased with the design and quality of the lockers, and the support provided by the company. The installation went smoothly and the new storage and changing facilities have helped maintain high standards."
Robert Wallace, Assistant Head of James Allen's Girls School
James Allen’s Girls’ School
Founded in 1741, James Allen’s Girls’ School, known as JAGS, is the oldest independent girls’ school in London and is regarded as among the most successful in the country. It has a daughter school, James Allen's Preparatory School, JAPS, and a pre-preparatory school, JAPPS.
The school prides itself on its high academic standard and the quality of its artistic, sporting and cultural provision. There are over 1000 girls in the three schools combined.
The school moved to its present building in September 1895, which has undergone continued development since. Recently their old 1930’s swimming pool was converted into a new Refectory, café and kitchens with a new drama studio and classroom block above.
Business Challenge
The refurbishment undertaken in 2007/8, included the re-design of many of the school’s storage areas. As ‘Health and Safety’ regulations are high on the JAGS’ agenda, the objective was to provide changing and storage facilities that were safe to use, easy to access, cost-effective to maintain and matching the school’s interior. Their storage needs were unique, as they required deeper storage lockers capable of storing many different items and designed specifically for the education sector.
