Making schools the hubs of the local community which they serve 
Lockers and changing facilities are a fundamental block in school design in order to support a wider range of physical activities and comply with the health and safety requirements.
The major government initiative of Building Schools for the Future (BSF) has secured £45 billion of government funding to rebuild and refurbish secondary schools. Announced out in 2003 and due to be implemented over a 15 year period, the programme is managed by the Partnership for Schools (PfS) agency, and about 15 Local Authorities are taking part in the program at each stage.

Under the BSF program, Garran Lockers worked with Skanska (the leading construction group) to design and implement lockers and changing facilities for the first new school build.
The Bristol Brunel Academy, with over 1000 pupils, opened in September 2007, on time and within budget. This project was part of Bristol’s first wave of BSF investment of £119 million and since then have seen a further 4 secondary schools rebuilt.
Satisfied with Garran's professionalism, Skanska introduced the Garran's lockers to the two more newly built schools: Brislington Enterprise College (September 2008) and the Bristol Metropolitan College.
