Leisure Lockers - Business Challenge All three park brands which are distinctive and innovative experienced significant business growth over the last few years. They undertook major re-development and refurbishment programs to cope with growing numbers of visitors and to be able to deliver memorable experiences to millions of guests underpinned by comfort and the highest Health & Safety standards. Theme parks family outings are most often a day long event which is why practical, accessible and heavy duty storage facilities are of prime importance. As part of the re-development program, the Chessington and THORPE PARK storage areas got expanded and required new leisure lockers which were easy to access, use and service. However, the underpinning requirement was to select leisure lockers built for heavy usage and where often vandalism may occur. Solution Deployed Chessington World of Adventures reviewed several locker suppliers and selected Garran’s Titan locker range as they are the sturdiest leisure lockers available. They opted for 2, 3, 4 & 5 tier Titan lockers for the general public and 6-tier lockers for their staff. In total, Chessington deployed 428 storage compartments. Encouraged by the Chessington’s successful choice, THORPE PARK decided to follow suit and ordered 331 compartments of 3 and 4 tier Titan lockers that were timely installed in the general public storage areas. Further orders are expected shortly as part of the on-going modernisation project. Legoland faced a slightly different challenge. The growing number of employees put extra demands on the limited storage area and its capabilities. The off-the-shelf lockers installed within the limited changing room space would not be able to provide the adequate storage for all their existing staff. Instead Garran Lockers reviewed and re-designed the floor layout to allow a larger number of leisure locker compartments to be fitted into a very small space focussing on ease of access and use. Satisfied with the proposed solution, Legoland has ordered 544 1 & 2 Tier locker compartments to-date and more leisure lockers will be required shortly as part of the plan to replace all remaining old lockers with the new ones. Following the successful and timely installation of all the leisure locker solutions, Garran Lockers undertook thorough site surveys of each site and obtained excellent feedback about the project delivery.
