Kerrygold Case Study 

The Kerrygold Company is one of the largest packers of cheese servicing the major UK retailers, supplying 25% of the UK pre-packed cheese market. Located in Leek, Staffordshire, Kerrygold pack over 50,000 tonnes of natural cheese each year and have developed an enviable reputation within the food industry for providing customers with excellent products and services.

Business Challenge

In 2008, the Kerrygold Company commissioned a new Processing and Packing Facility worth in total £30m, to support their growing business demands. The scheme comprises the construction of processing and packing facility for light and general food industry activities.

Employing approx 600 factory staff, Kerrygold wanted to ensure that all their employees had their own lockers, that meet their storage as well as health and safety requirements.

Lockers required for the newly built facility had to incorporate an additional perforated shoe shelf with ventilation slots. As a marketing driven and brand conscious business, Kerrygold was looking for the aesthetically pleasing locker solutions that fitted well into the newly built facility and more importantly, endorsed the strong brand values and the ‘safety’ related color scheme.
